Part-Time Software Developer (Student)
The Part-Time Software Developer role is a paid W-2 job for South Florida students at Cuanto Labs, a Fort Lauderdale software studio. You work 12 hours a week, as 2 set days of 6 hours scheduled around your classes, and about 80% of the work is remote. You build in TypeScript, Next.js, React, Prisma, Postgres and Tailwind, and what you build ships to production.
Apply nowAbout the Software Developer role
Cuanto Labs builds web apps, AI agents and Shopify stores for B2B companies. As the student developer you work on that kind of production software, not on practice exercises. The features you write are meant to reach real users.
Every pull request you open gets a code review, so you see how your code reads to another engineer before it goes live. The work is also yours to show: you keep it in your portfolio and can point to shipped features when you talk to future employers.
What you'll do
Ship real features to production
You take features from an idea to a deployed change in a Next.js and React codebase. Shipping means the work goes live for real users.
Work in a modern TypeScript stack
Day to day you write TypeScript with Next.js and React, use Prisma to talk to Postgres, and style interfaces with Tailwind.
Get code review on every PR
Each pull request is reviewed before it ships. You get feedback on the code you wrote, and you learn how a production codebase is kept clean.
Build a portfolio you can keep
The work you ship stays in your portfolio, so you graduate with real, shipped features to show instead of only coursework.

Schedule and location
12 hours a week
Each role is 12 hours a week, split into 2 set days of 6 hours. The days are fixed, so you and the studio both know when you are working.
Scheduled around your classes
The two days are scheduled around your classes, so the work fits the days you have free.
About 80% remote
Most of the work happens remotely. The rest is project or campaign meetings with the founder and South Florida networking events.
